Dear Mr. Agusdin Pulungan,

A week has passed since the World Rural Forum culminated its 4th World Conference in Bilbao entitled “Family Farming: Feeding the World, Caring for the Earth”.

Thanks to the high level of professionalism of the speakers, who like you, attended the Conference – in a disinterested manner and moved by a commitment to development – , important knowledge of the theme has been acquired, without forgetting the great number of tasks still pending to achieve a true recognition of and support for Family Farming.

In a very relevant manner the Conference has demonstrated that Family Farming is an essential tool of combating hunger and poverty in the world in a sustainable way.

The personal and institutional commitment shown by people like you fills us with hope and motivates us to continue working in favor of the hundreds of millions of men, women and young people who are linked to Family Farming.

Allow us, in the name of the World Rural Forum’s whole team, to send you our warmest gratitude and our congratulations on the efforts made.

Trusting that we can count on your valuable contribution in the WRF´s future tasks, specially the International Year of Family Farming´s preparation, we send you our most sincere greetings.

Juan Luis Laskurain

World Rural Forum President

José María Ceberio

Executive Secretary of the World Rural Forum
